It is imperative that cultural issues, including gender and kinship issues, are respected in the delivery, assessment and application of this competency
This unit describes the competencies required to provide information and support around breast cancer, including breast awareness and early detection, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care, as part of primary health care services for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities
Specific advice provided may be limited by close supervision or established guidelines in line with community needs and health provider guidelines
